Ask the allmighty search function .. you wouldnt believe how many times people shared tactics and strategies for this creature :D
There's also an improved version ( downloadable ) that restores him to his original intended power .. and tactics to defeat the improved version [img]smile.gif[/img]

[ADD] If someone is immune to Time Stop and you're in a party, DO NOT CAST TIME STOP!!! I made this mistake with Jan once: I was fighting somebody and I wanted to lower his Magic Resistance--Jan wasn't doing anything, so I had him lay a stack of Time Traps in an out-of-the-way place, and I led the bad guy over to them to give Jan time to soften him up some. *KPOW* Traps went off, Time stops, Jan starts casting Lower Resistance....and the guy keeps right on comin' and kicks the living snot out of my Undead Hunter in about 2 seconds.

If you're Soloing, however, go ahead and cast Time Stop if you want--at least the bad guy's henchmen will be helpless.

Personally, I soften him up a bit first with a couple of spike traps. Ahh but you dont have a high level thief (God bless Jan, he's not much good at anything else!). Keep firing breach at him, make sure the guy taking the hits is protected against poison (there's an amulet that does this), fear and has chaotic commands. Ignore his summoned guys untill he is dead (he just summons more otherwise).

I cant really believe how easy this guy is! with a few spell casters to cast protection from energy and stuff to make it so that you are immune to all elemental damage and a few protection from magic weapons spells, this demon doesnt stand a chance(even the improved one). cast the buffs, send youre protected character in first(all the demons will start hacking at him and wont mind the others) and start casting breaches and stuff at demogorgon while the fighters hack away at the ugly beast. he will fall rather quickly. i really expected a better AI for demogorgon, i didnt even notice i had the improved version on, until i checked it out later.
