Yeah I have problems with him to i always have to take it down to easy difficaulty for him, I did kill him on insane once but that was with a whole top level party, that I created.
He's probably the toughest in the game in my opinion! so yeah. Followed by the Demo-Gorgon and the Ravenger. [ 04-11-2003, 06:00 AM: Message edited by: Sparhawk, Warrior of the light ] |
Who is in your party, and roughly what are their levels?

CHEESY TACTIC SPOILERS
= = = = 1) Circle around the 'human' draconis and pick off as many of the Salamanders as you can without triggering him 2) Lure draconis towards the part of the cave that you entered 3) Beat his human form here. If you kill him close enough to the entrance, when he changes into Dragon form he gets stuck 4) Take your time, regroup, heal, you can even rest and memorise more appropriate spells. He will not be able to follow you. I know its slightly lame, but its only a suggestion and you don't have to do it. [EDIT]Whoops :D [/EDIT] [ 04-12-2003, 10:31 AM: Message edited by: Dace De'Briago ] |
Dace, that's Abazigal, not Draconis.

Isn`t it funny that Draconis is a lot thougher then his papa Abazigal...IMHO that is.

Download Improved Abazigal and try to say that again ;)

I have it Daan..my opinion is not changed....

it would help to know what class you are and who is in your party
but heres some tactics that will probably work: timestop, if kensai/mage then just beat down, if just mage use the usual lower resist/remove protections/nuke the frig out of him tactic. If you dont have timestop available then get up resistances to his breath attack (it was acid i think? not sure) and simply beat him down using standard dragon melee tactic. yes he will heal using this tactic, but it shouldnt matter since he wont be able to damage your characters except by claw - and then protection from magical weapons stops that. If you have a cleric in the party you could try harm touching him after a mage lowers his resist. *edit* and as for drac being more powerful than improved abizigal?....no way! abi fight your facing a bunch of annoying drakes with a dragon and abi in human form; along with this fact is that abi in human form is capable of doing 100+ dmg hits, in dragon form ive seen him do 30-80. plus in his dragon form with my all melee char (kensai pure) he was able to heal himself 10 times and deal over 1000 damage to my main char (used all of viconias greater restorations and a bunch of heal potions!) Ah well, good try then ;)
Newayz .. I think Improved Abazigal might be conceived as easier because you prepare for that fight more. Draconis doesnt really allow for too many prebuffs *and* is quite unexpected. If you know what's coming he's pretty easy. Also as a mage, Draconis is probably a slightly bigger pain in the butt because he really likes turning invisible. Ah well .. to each his mind ( there's a saying that's something along those terms IIRC ) |
