Ok, so i have valen in my party for ToB
i enter the temple in saradush, and the prist casts a party wide implosion along with a number of other spells - including i think natures beuty which blinded most of my characters.
No problem to cure with heal on everyone but valen - so how do i cure valens blindness when no cleric spells affect her? it is a permanent blindness barring spells i believe so i cant rest it off.

Does Greater Restoration work? How about a whack from the Staff of Magi?

Dispel magic cures blindness. Haven't played with Valen so I do not know if that'll work on her as well.

dispell worked sorta

but i noticed something quite disconcerting...
the blindness icon is gone by the cure or dispell...
but all of the effects of being blind (worse thaco, low visual range) still exist! :(

I tried remove curse, greater restoration, heal, dispel, resting a lot, doing a clueconsole for timepassage etc and none of them are fixing my reduced visual range or thaco problem

mabe it is a bug...Do you have the latest patches/fixes?

Gabrielles blades 04-10-2003 02:40 PM

hrm, interesting

I tried redoing the battle several times

Spell immunity evocation did not protect me from the implosion as it should have, spell immunity illusion made the blind icon not appear but i still lose the thaco; plus side is it appears that this time the thaco loss isnt permanent unlike last time.

as far as im aware i have the latest version
i did the SoA install, then ToB, then ToB patch, then various weidu npc mod add ons such as valen

Xen 04-10-2003 02:54 PM

Hmm. You installed in the right order so i really don`t know what is wrong.

Only 1 thing to do:

1.)Put your saves into diffrent dircetory
2.)Re-install the game
3.)Install:
Bg2:SoA
ToB
ToB Official Patch
WeiDu Mods

Hope this will help

Ever tried CTRL-R?

RoryD 04-26-2003 03:06 PM

As far as I know, Ctrl-R only cures hitpoints, and it is Ctrl-T that removes effects.

In my game at least, CTRL-R removes all effects as well as cures the target.
