Thought I might as well share the information with the rest of the people. Firestorm, a level 7 Priest spell, ignores Magic Resistance. Whether it be casted from a Cleric or a Planetar.
It works this way on my com, and it works on my friend's com as well. Thought you might want to mention it on the Spell Reference site. |
I'd say that Meteor-swarm and skull-trap should ignore magic resistance also.
I mean, MMM ignores magic resistance because of its duallity .. It will act as both spell and weapon/object. Hence you can use them to drain a spell-turning, but also damage the enemy after that -MR or not-. Kinda like waves acting like particles and vice versa Its understandable as the spell conjures forth another thing .. skull-trap, firestorm and Meteor swarm do so too. A skull trap, as I see it, is like a grenade or a pipe-bomb. You cant convince me of the fact that your Magic resistance is going to stop a small firey meteor crashing down on you. So thank god for the Fire-storm atleast |
I'm of the opinion that burning caused by innate abilities, such as Red Dragon Breath, should count as Fire damage and bypass Magic Resistance, since it was not caused by a spell and is therefore not magical in nature. Hot stuff created by spells, however, such as Fireball, Sunfire and Fire Storm, should count as Magic Fire, and can be blocked by Magic Resistance.
Of course, that's just my theory, but since it makes some logical sense it's probably not the way it actually works in the game. |
Thanks, mate. Noted.
