I've finished ToB but haven't come across the Darkfire Bow and the Thieves Hood. I'm usually pretty thorough while playing... the only things I can think of that I didn't kill were the dragon outside Abazigal's lair and the Cambion with the Deck of Many Things. I take it there's no other way to get more than one Bowsting of Gond, Heart of the Damned and Eye of Tyr as well? I suppose they'd be unique, but it'd be nice if you could get all upgrades in the game. ;)

Many people miss the Thieves' Hood, as the only way to get it involves being Neutral or Evil in alignment. (I may be wrong about the specifics, but that's the general rule.) If you went though the Portal Maze level of Watcher's Keep and no Hood was ever offered to you, then you most likely didn't have the right alignment to get it.

Darkfire and Taralash, I can never remember which is which. Anyway, one of them is carried by someone in Amkethran (outdoors), and the other by someone on Level 5 of Watcher's Keep (the last level before the Imprisoned One).

Eye of Tyr, Heart of the Damned, and Bowstring of Gond are all unique.

Thanks for the info! I was playing a paladin (undead hunter), so that's most likely why I didn't get the Thieves Hood. Blast it! The benefits of not being good... *sigh* I've got to play through the game evil next time.

I found the Taralash Bow too, so it looks like the Darkfire Bow is the one in Amkethran. I'll have to poke around there to find it, although I can't really think of anyone outside that would have it. I only recall a lot of commoners complaining about the Bhaalspawn. :D

There's a captian training his archers outside somewhere ... talk to him and make him mad

LOL! Thanks for the tip. :D

IIRC that's pretty necessary to get in at the first place. We are talking about Draconis right?

</font>
No, not Draconis. The dragon I'm referring to is the one you use the scroll of reversal on that is just outside the entrance to Abazigal. The dragon with the geas!

Oh, and a question for those who killed this dragon. Does it drop anything of note?

A Ring of Invisibility, a component for an item upgrade if you did not bother to keep one from SoA.

SixOfSpades 03-10-2003 10:53 PM

IIRC, it's actually a Ring of Improved Invisibility. Rather useless anyway, IMHO.
