ok, I have a level 30 monk. i am killing Abigazal. i am in his lair, and I have bashed the snot out of him as a human. He changes shape and knocks me backwards. Get this: I don't die, but the bars around my screen blank out,like when you die, the screen mists , like when you can't see something. The dragon goes on beating my head off until I die, and then it starts on Minsc. And what's with the portal anyway????????

When he shapechanges, the screen is supposed to do it because it can't actually show him changing. As for not being able to move, that attack he used knocking you backwards is called Wing Buffet, it knocks out all of your party members if they fail their saves. All I can tell you is when he shapechanges is be prepared in advance with some good protection spells before anything else happens. Or, do what I did, and use Quivering Palm, kills a dragon in one shot [img]smile.gif[/img]

The portal is the exit out of the lair when you have defeated Abazigal. Is it only you and Minsc in your party? I remember I ran him over then reversed back over him again with a six player party with a lvl of 21-27. As Gangrell said above, youre being hit by a wing buffet. Try to surround him from all sorts of directions, to counter his knockback. You could have Minsc attack from the front, then sneak back and while Minsc is being knocked back to oblivion, use quivering palm on him and see what happens. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Lead human form into that passage to the south.

Kick human form till he changes.

Stand well back and laugh.

Kill as you like, cos hes going nowhere.

Cheesy, but it worked for my solo monk. Coudnt be bothered chasing and being chased like I did with draconis.
