Hi all! I'm new to the forums here. I was just wondering if anyone who uses mods has tried the mod-switcher from TeamBG.
I have installed SoA/ToB with a bunch of mods and now I'm kind of lost as to what mod is doing what! I've run up against some really tough monsters at the very beginning of the game and they are wiping me out (like a Lich in the temple ruins.) So I would like to back off some of the tougher mods, but I'm not sure where to start. I know that some mods (like TDD) can act funny if you try to use a save game from a non-modded setup. I'm currently using: ascension, ease-of-use, tactics (weidu versions), balderdash (non-weidu cane with TDD) and TDD. Any help would be appreciated. |
I believe the only way to get rid of mods is to uninstall, and then re-install the entire game. I may be wrong, though.

Welcome to Ironworks, Xookliba !
I think the mod you have installed is the "Always toughest random spawns in dungeons" element of the Tactics mod. To uninstall it, just open the installer and follow the instructions. Hope I helped. |
I think the best way is to just uninstall it, with a few options. If you have one of the bigger mods, it'll have an un-install program in the folder that you set it up in (like TDD). But for Ascension, just try going to settings in start up, go to control panel and click on Add/Remove Programs. Should do the trick.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I ran the tactics setup file and it allows you to remove specific components. I did remove the "always toughest random spawns" and it seemed to work. I'm just surprised that the mod-switcher does not show any of the mods except TDD when you install it.
Unfortunately, there were two lichs being spawned in the dungeon. One was already encountered in my save game when I uninstalled the "toughest random spawns," so that one did not go away. I had to uninstall the "smarter lichs and mages" element to beat him. And then, I also had to use some "cheese" tactics, but I got past him! Thanks for all your help! |

The "mod switcher" was intended for people who wanted to, say, juggle games with TDD and SOS, mods that are not normally intercompatible (although there's the Big Picture moosher thing, blah blah blah)... since the vast majority of WeiDU mods all work together there's no need for that special structure, you just run the relevant Setup-blah.exe to add or remove components as necessary.

JC, does the mod switcher switch SoA game - ToB game?
|
I don't think it's designed to work that way, but I don't know, I don't use it.
