The fifth trial is kicking my rear. The Ravager is destroying me repeatedly. What tactic am I not exploring? I have noticed he does engage in ranged attacks, but the Bone swords are turning me into stew meat. Any ideas? Thx.

The whirlwind attacks are very useful against the Ravager. You could also play it cheesy by setting some spike traps with you thief, if you have one of course.
|
talking about spike traps, i wonder when they fix the traps in that game.

I put a few Wyverns in one corner to draw the swords away from the Characters, and then I doused the eintire area with a lot of Horrible Wilting, and let the tanks hack away.

A mordy sword makes an excellent tank against the ravager and ESPECIALLY the bone swords (they cannot harm it, so they stand there whacking away in vain). If you have anyone who can cast this, it makes it all too easy. Just keep pumping in the summons for the ravager to attack while your heavy hitters (fighters/thieves/monks/planatars, ect.) wail away at it. Also, Three words: Flail of Ages.

Don't forget defensive harmony, it lowers everyone is the party's AC by 2. I have went through the game twice and the biggest problem I had was trying to keep my mages alive in this battle. Try and focus on that and let your tanks beat up on the Ravager. As someone mentioned earlier, greater whirlwind attack is awesome, also dont wait until your party members are almost dead before you start downing those potions of healing.

The last few big fights of the game I dropped the second weapon advantage and went for a shield instead. Add Defensive Harmony and I had Minsc with -14 AC...
