I''ve seen this many times now and I always wanted to ask but ended up forgetting. When Cespenar mentions 'Martha' exactly who is he referring to? He says she is around here in hell somewhere, and has lots of recipes.

DrakenKorin 11-20-2002 06:18 AM

Haha, when does he say that?

Wilbur 11-20-2002 06:30 PM

I don't believe anyone knows who Martha is, but the recipes he refers to are, of course, the various weapons that Cespenar can make or upgrade for you.

sounds like a martha stewart reference to me, but i'd like to see it in the text. proably just a little joke from bioware

The Ozzman 11-20-2002 08:03 PM

no Wilbur he specifically says Martha has lots of recipes as well.

Gammit 11-20-2002 10:59 PM

That sounds familiar... I do think I remember him saying that. He was my all-time favorite part of TOB.

Timber Loftis 11-21-2002 11:40 AM

I specifically remember it, and LMAO when it happened. If you ask Cespenar if he has a list of recipes, he says Martha has all the recipes, and she is wondering around Hell somewhere. I think it's a reference to Martha Stewart, and therefore LMAO. :D :D :D

Plus, since the game predates Martha's stock woes, it makes it even funnier. :D :D :D :D

Is martha stewart some celebrity or something? I thought it was funny when i heard cespenar say it, but i'm guessing it would be funnier if i knew who the hell she was.

Are you kidding?
Martha stewart is famous for making things way more complicted than they have to be(household things, like centerpieces, food, dolies)
She was a billionaire on paper( i don't think she is anymore)
she has a tv show, and possibly a magizine

And why would he be kidding? You seem to forget that not all who post here are in US and care about some US TV-shows or some people you there might know well. I can as well name loads of famous people here and tell you in answer to the same question "Are you kidding?!?". I personally don't give a rats tail about things not here and don't think that I must know anything about those things. If something - or someone - is well known in US, it doesn't mean that the world knows or gives a damn about it or that person.
