It seems to me that ToB has more than its share of bugs, far more than it should. I know that the makers were probably counting on the fact that we would all shuck out 20 bucks just to see the end of the story, but couldn't they have done a little better job? I mean, Cespanar bugs, dialouge bugs, Installation problems out the whazoo, Please, its supposed to be a game, not a troubleshooting training program.

I have rarely had any bugs with bg2 but hey, maybe im just lucky? Games getting released with bugs is common in this day and age with developers rushing to get games out of the door as quickly as possible to make publishers happy. Play testing bg2 would be a very big job, since it is such a large game and you have to try it out on many different set ups.

On this topic, I've run into a problem in Chapter Nine
[ITTY BITTY SPOILERS] ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I've just killed the junior dragon in human and dragon form. I walk through the door at the end of the hall and am attacked by a Werewyvern and some Earth Elementals. Every time I kill the Wyvern, the game crashes - the window instantly closes. I haven't been to the Sendai area yet. Could this be caused by doing stuff in the wrong order? Or is there any other factor that's known to cause program crashes like this? |

I havn't encountered this problem at the wyvern, instead it happens after i kill Abazigal and get dragged off by Solar. I don't think it has anything to do with the order you tackle your siblings (i killed Sendai first) but keep at it and eventually you'll get through. It's frustrating I know; sorry i can't be of more use. As far as general BG buggies go, i think Bioware have done a pretty good job. It would be nearly impossible (and absolutely unfeasible) to test the game on every PC configuration the game is going to be played on. We gamers must treat bugs the same as that dragon that's just trampled your pride into the mire of your own blood. Reload. Try again. |
That crash is probably caused by a corrupt area file. Re-install.

The forum strikes again with fast, helpful advice.
Thanks to both of you...I'll reinstall and keep bashing away. |

If it crashes in an area change then, yeah corrupted area. But, he says it loads and only crashes when he kills one creature. Have you guys all got the latest patches ?? Both the TOB Official Patch and the Baldurdash TOB Fixpack </font> |

A crash caused by the death of a creature is probably caused by the computer not having the animation file showing the death of that creature, either because the file is corrupt or missing entirely. You could try using spells such as Disintegrate or Imprisonment to get rid of the Werewyvern instead, or just Feeblemind or Petrify it and waltz right on by. It's not like you need the EXP for killing it, at this point. |

Have tested it out somewhat and it seems that all my buggies have been squashed. |

I meant creature, of course. re-installing should still fix it though, baldurdash fixpacks probably wont but should be installed anyway. |
