Short, but then it is hard to see how to pad it oout with characters at those kinds of levels.

Short compared to Shadows of Amn and the original Baldur's Gate, but also about equal to Tales of the Sword Coast (the expansion pack to the original game).

It may seem long, because it is rather difficult. But the storyline unfolds very quickly, and there is not so much side quests. All the things shorten the length of tob.

But BioWare was not going to make a new SoA, so I think its quite normal that ToB is so short.

If there were yet an another sequel, that would be great. Imagine that the power of your char in the final battle is only a beginning, a floor to start advancing from... I fear the might of my own sorcerer ;)

Your char in the final battle has already god-like abilities and power. There could hardly be further advancement.

Yeah I agree with Vedran. If they make another Baldur's Gate I think it will have to be with a new storyline and a complete set of new characters. A shame in a way because I'll miss a few of them like Mazzy but the characters are too high a level now.
