how do you beat him? without cheating or using the trainer and using the items you have when you play ToB. is it possible? i have a 22 level Sorceror with all the killer spells - well i have been told they are good spells that i have chosen. I have also found out you can't solo unless your a fighter/thief in ToB thats what i have noticed. Its real difficult to not have a party when the game was designed for primarily parties with varying skill. You can't disarm a trap or open a locked door if your a fighter or anything in that class. ok im rambling now, i'll stop.

party members:
Saervok
myself
imoen
Vicona - i chose her because despite what the rating she got in the ToB walkthru booklet. She is an Awesome Cleric and i like her.

SPOILER

It wasn't a problem for me, but just do normal tactics, send you tanks to beat on him, and cast spells at him ,time stop won't work, I know so don't use that one if you have it.

Actually, by this point, just about every single class has been used to solo SoA-ToB already, including the much disliked Beastmaster and Wizard Slayer.

As for Demogorgan, you must know that he is immuned to level 1-6 spells except for Breach and spells that create magical weapons. What this means is that he is immuned to Lower Resistance, but he is not immuned to Pierce Shield, so use 3-4 Pierce Shields to lower his magical resistances before using any offensive spells. 6-7 Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wiltings will kill him rather efficiently.

Use Planetars/Devas, Sarevok, Skeleton Warriors, Mordenkainen's Swords, etc... to distract Demogorgan and his demons. Use Sarevok to get rid of the demon first, before concentrating on Demogorgan. He should be wearing the Ring of Gaxx to prevent getting poisoned by the Maraliths.

Summon a lot, DON'T CAST TIME STOP. Try sending your summons far away from the party, so that you can bash him with ranged weapons while using your summons as cannon fodder. I find that having one person (in your case prolly Sarevok) bash on him as much as possible, have him shift (via cloak of sewers (LOVE THAT ITEM :D )) into a troll, regenerate and then repeat. Also works with regenerative items. I like using weapons more than spells against him, but you should take a magical approach (after all, seems like you have a little ;) bit of magic power.)

I had hugh problems with all the demons he summoned. Always 8 demons attacking me and evil spells in my face as well.

Price of Darkness I thought this was a thread for Ozzy. Any hoo sounds like some good advice. I still need to go back and give him a beating with My Barbarian how will I ever beat him????

Good luck with Ozzy well you know what I mean.

i felt forlorn with his multiple gates as well...
simply keep the original two he summons around {the four armed 'gals'} and he doesn't think to start gating in the 4 at a time glabrezu...
make sure you are protected from poison, have summons for distraction/fodder as others have suggested, and after piercing his shield, magic missiles take care of his innate stoneskins very well {and breaches of course; for his friends as well who do the same}
the answerer is a great sword to be weilding in the battle {two handed with runehammer especially..} as it makes him vulnerable to magic assault
the stoneskins are your worst enemy in this fray i think...
get through those and you can smash him screenshakily

Two things. ;)

1) Demogorgan is immuned to Magic Missiles.
2) Magic Missiles do not affect Stoneskins.

No, that's my brother
Demogorgon the Prince of the Tanar'ri is really hard. i found him tougher than irenicus. here's my two cents:
Since you obviously went through WK you will have found seveal spell-protection-removal wands. use these on the marileths. I suggest Mord's swords with chaotic commands on them. I also suggest a fast-rate archer to keep the stoneskin down-Imoen may have the Gesen short bow. use her and an improved haste enchantment. Once you have removed the spell protections on the marileths, tanks and mord's swords can deal with them while you can uise the wands on demogorgon at this point. I would get rid of as many of his sidekicks as possible before concentrating on him.
