I finally got ToB, and its all that I'd hoped it to be, but my romance with Aerie hasn't progressed at all. I had successfully completed every romance dialogue with her in SoA, but I've been playing ToB for many hours and I haven't heard a word from her. I was under the impression that the romances pick up where they leave off in ToB, am I wrong on this? Can't figure this one out, it still even says that we're in the '2'(dating) stage when I use CLUAConsole to check how we're doing.

The only thing I can think of is that my alignment switched to NE after the tears of Bhaal tests (OK, so I was selfish, I really didn't want to lose a point of much needed dexterity), but I didn't think alignment affected romances, just reputation. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas? (BTW: I apologize if this has been posted about before, I can't seem to find the search function and I really don't feel like going through them all manually).

I don't think Aerie will romance you if you're evil but because you've already done the SoA part of the romance, she might not complain, just not innitiate the toB part. try using Shadowkeeper http://www.mud-master.com/shadowkeeper/ to make your character their previous alignment.

Grrr! No! Don't do that! You deserve to be evil if you took the evil path! Alignment is a basic thing, that SHOULD be shaped by the way your char acts and the decisions they make.. If you acted evil than you can just stay evil.
And with Selfish.. Did your selfishness kill Aerie, or another party member? I think that she'd be a little put off at having to suffer and die so you could save your precious little dexterity point.

lol, I take it evil people get Illumina all worked up? No, Shadowkeeper CAn reverse that-whether or not you decide to use it responsibly is up to you. I recall having a trial with it by making super-beefed up chars, got bored, and wandered off ;) . it was much more fun to play the game normally, but to use SK for things like skipping you to the last loveTALK in a romance you've already done.

Firstly, Welcome to Ironworks. It's always good to see new people around.

As you guessed, your alignment change probably would be a factor in Aerie not continuing the relationship, but I get the impression from:

That you expect the TOB romances to be on a timer as they where in SOA, some of them still are, but most of the romance events (or so I've noticed) are more event based. If your intended partner isn't talking to you, and there's no alignment shift getting in the way, I strongly suggest you just go on playing the game, and perhaps as the plot unfolds, some event or other will elicit a response from them.

As far as using Shadowkeeper to alter your alignment, if you feel quilty about it just donate half your party's gold to the nearest temple

Thanks for the replies, but I just beat it and it was indeed a bug (BTW this is a big SPOILER if you haven't beaten ToB or completed the Aerie romance).

As I was stepping up to become the new God of Murder (I couldn't get the shadow keeper thing to change my alignment, well more acurately my alignment still said Chaotic Good in shadow keeper but in the game it said Neutral Evil, so I just gave in and decided to be evil) everyone stepped up to say their good-byes, and when Aerie spoke she mentioned raising 'our' baby all on her own, even though we never even slept together. So, obviously there was some kind of bug there, perhaps spurred on by my alignment change <SHRUG>. Oh well. It was still pretty fun even w/o the romance. Worked out pretty well actually, plot wise I mean, turning evil. It was like the power was just too much, and it twisted the PC's heart. I'm gonna do it again with a new character, and this time really be good, hopefully that will allow the romance to continue. Think I'm gonna try Jaheira this time, though I've heard that romance is infamously 'buggy'.

People play evil chars all the time. I certainly do. What I despise is people who claim to play good chars, yet aren't willing to act in alignment when the time comes. They choose the evil path, the path that a true good char would never take, and then they whine when they turn evil and use SK to change it back. A recourse for the weak. They made their beds and now they need to lie in them.

Uh, yeah... Aerie....

I had everything pretty fine with her, even, ya know, in my castle back in SoA. But in ToB, she didn`t talk with me (btw, what BABY?) any more, although I was a good character (really good...).

BTW, she leaves you during ToB (or just me?), because when I visited the old Bhaal temple, a ghost who said he was Gorion (but he wasn`t) told her that her mother is dead. So she went and searched for her. Nuff said (and that b**ch never came back!)

PS: What BABY?

Assuming the Aerie romance is done properly; Aerie gets pregnant, and eventually delivers a baby boy.
