I usually stack 5 armors in my bag of plenty but what would be the all in one armour? what would be the best robe of mage?

best robe for mage-Robe of vecna.
best armour for defence-shurrupk's plate (-2 defence, +1 dex)
best armour for bard-asylerfund elven chai

Anything else you need?

The best Leather armour will be the White Dragon Scale, for Thieves, Barbarians and such.

The big metal unit propably -10 ac grants 22 str.

Sharuppak's plate isn't always the second best suit of armor, If you already have high dex than one extra point might not change anything and you'd better go for an armor which grants resistances or that nice armor you can buy in Amkethran which grants with immunity to backstabs.

I'm going to have to place my vote on best all-around armor on the gilded elven chainmail. Its AC is either 0 or -1 which is very good, it is very light, it can be used by multiclassed mages and thieves without removing spellcasting and thievery abilities, grants immunity to all nonmagical weapons, and may or may not bestow magic resistance.. I forget.
Best mage robe is Robe of Vecna. Without question.
The most armors with lowest AC are the Armor of the Hart, the White Dragon Chain, and Shurrupk's Plate. All grant -2 AC.
Best leather armor is the Grandmaster's Armor, if I'm correct.. but I could be mistaken. The Shadow Dragon Scale is pretty good, too.

Well i gotta agree, if its possible get the Big Metal Unit. Its nice i think,or maybe im just hallucinatingdue to lack of sleep :D

I'd have to say for fighter type characters either Shuppurak's Plate, Red Dragon Scale, or White Dragon Scale. For multi classed mages It would be the Asynderfund Elven Chain Mail, and for Mages it would be the Robe of the Good Archmage (I can't get the Robe of Vecna).

And archers [img]smile.gif[/img] no seriously the white dragon scale is the best for archers, it really is. mine has an ac of something like -9 now [img]smile.gif[/img]

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Enkuidu's full plate+3 the best?

And while I'm here I might aswell ask what the hell are the bronze pantaloons for? There are supposedly a gold and silver pair aswell but I never found any??

The Golden Pantaloons are in BG1. Silver Pantalets are in BG2.. Remember the Buried Man quest, and the kidnapped victim upstairs? If you go to get the ransom on her you get the SP's.
All three are components for the biggest Easter Egg ultimate item: The Big Metal Unit. Which is a disturbing name. Makes me think of all the lovely pickup lines my CN elf has used in bars all over the FR:
