Hi everyone,

Just thought I would take a moment to introduce myself...I have been lurking in the shadows of this board for a few weeks...

I have been playing Baldur's Gate + TOTSC for about a month now...I have started tons of games experimenting with different characters/classes/NPC combinations...Personally, I have found that when it all boils right down to it, the base classes work pretty well.

I have not completed the game yet, but I currently have 3 games going...

One with a Lawful Neutral Dwarf Fighter close to the end of Chapter 4.
One with a Lawful Good Elven Mage on Chapter 3.
One with a Chaotic Good Halfling Thief on Chapter 1.

Baldur's Gate + TOTSC is probably the best RPG that I have played...I have already Purchased Baldur's Gate II, but am holding off on playing it until I finish Baldur' Gate.

Anyway, greeting all! Its great to meet you!

Yeah welcome.

This is a long adventure indeed. IŽve been playing for three months (chaotic good ranger, chap 6) and IŽll probably finish the game this week. These are, however, busy times and it might be that I end up finish it next autumn.

Welcome to the board,

Lavi here, permanent BG1 forum lurker, spammer, and any other name you want to call me. Sazerac also called me a smart-ass know it all, which is great praise from someone such as him indeed.

But he knows his stuff, and he knows that I know everything. Nearly.

I (Rikter, Pal:8) stumbled out of the end of Chapter 6
last night, and headed to Ulgoth's Beard to do the Sword Coast
stuff before finishing the game.

Guess we'll be finishing about the same time, and we can
exchange moral support as we break into BG2

Open question: Does money carry forward into BG2? I have 45000
bucks and my only expense is buying megadeath arrows for Coran,
Kivan and Imoen. Should I blow all my money before the game ends,
or should I be saving up for all the cool goodies in BG2?

Thanx, Rikter

Money isn't transferred...but there is nothing really to blow your money on....

I had 110k GP when I finished.

Nothing of your equipment will be transfered, only the naked main char makes it to BG2. Even the NPCs are not transfered but have set stats in BG2. I was very sad about this fact, when I wasted the tome of wisdom on Jah, only to see, that it had no effect.
