Hello,
I was wondering what the different endings to the game were. I. I played a good character through: would the ending have been changed for an evil or neutral character? The solar offered to help me, and I was to fight evil amongst the heavens. Does alignment matter? II. What happens to all of the other party characters? I am curious. Does anyone know or have a list? Here's my ending: Aerie with romance: no Ascension - she travels the world with PC and babies, returns home triumphantly, everyone is happy, a long life of adventure awaits. Aerie with romance: Ascension - she travels the world fighting slavery (baby?), returns home and then leaves in sadness, eventually finds peace among the gnomes. Imoen: wanders Faerun among the ranks of the greatest (good) wizards, doing good deeds and not (like, founding a thieves' guild), becoming a legend of history. Minsc: returns home, starts his own lodge ("Justice Fist", or something like that), and eventually, years later, leaves on a journey, never to return. III. O.k., if Ascension occurs, then why can't PC: give Aerie her wings, transform Boo into a Miniature Giant Space Hamster, deal with Seamon, etc., etc., and take the party companions to the heavenly planes? Perhaps they could serve as demigods, guards, messangers, agents or angelic agents in the PC's godhood??? I mean, hey, it's kind of like being king: the first rule is that you call the shots, if you can't rule your own house, then you really don't know what you're doing. Why leave 'em behind? Well, I suppose that this last point doesn't rate a reply. - Twilight [ 06-24-2002, 11:25 AM: Message edited by: --Twilight-- ] |

Are we talking about the Ascension mod, or what happens if your character ascends to divinity?
As for why you can´t take your friends with you if you become a god: I believe you´re no longer allowed to interfere directly in the affairs of mortals. |

"Hm...seems if you could give Sarevok a piece of your divinity to bring him back, you could do the same with your party members to have them achieve, at least, demi-god status. I mean, really...what is a 30-40th level mage or cleric or ranger going to DO with themselves other than become a demi-god? What's left to do?"
You know, I don´t think you actually turn Sarevok into a demigod by giving him a bit of your soul. I don´t think divinity is involved in the deal. And I don´t think you can just go around making your mortal friends demigods, either. There IS someone you have to answer to for your actions, you know. Name of Ao. Heard of him? As for what to do when you´re 30-40th level... I dunno. Poke around in other people´s games and dispense cryptic advise? (hey, Elminster does). Or you could always try to get your own kingdom or something. |
the PC couldn't make his friends demigods, but they are powerful at the end of the game to challenge a demigod or two and take over their portfolios, as for Ao, he tends to stay out of the affairs of anyone in Faerun, except for the whole time of troubles thing

Hello,
first of all, be like me and convince Imoen to cough-up the divine essence business (so, would Sarevok then die if you choose to forgo Ascension???). Second, Waukeem/god of trade is also dead, so, I say, let's carve-up his piece of the action for Imoen! In AD&D, you can travel between the planes, so why not take your party with you? I don't think that is prohibited (although the demi-god thing would have to be cleared with Ao, although there are demigods, however, THAT would make a dandy quest for a 30-40th level character {plus having a god in your corner?!), so put them to work - it isn't as though the other planes are simply empty. - Twilight |
Hey all.
Morgeraut: As I understand it, Ao is the Gods´ God. If they misbehave, then the Time of Troubles is exactly the sort of thing that could happen to them. Twilight: This may be a bit of a spoiler, so be warned if you intend to go on reading: Waukeen´s not dead, She was taken prisioner by the demon lord Graz´zt. There is a module for the tabletop D&D called "For Duty and Deity" where you can rescue her. Recommended for extremely high level characters only. Hey, now that´s something else you can do when you´re level 30-40. And then there´s the infamous Throne of Bloodstone module, wich introduced 100th level characters for the first (and only, if memory serves correctly) time... |
