Hello,
my main character weilds dual weapons (he's a paladin: I know, I know, Carsomyr! Silver Sword! Well, I'm thinking that the cumulative effects of the two weapons are still better). He switches between the purifier and the daystar in his main hand (finally gave-up on the wonderful Sword of Roses- if only the game could have upgraded it...maybe I'll cheat??), and another in his secondary hand. The question I have is whether the equalizer or the answerer would be most effective in this spot? Does anyone see one as clearly the superior over the other? I suppose that I might be making too big of a deal out of this, but I am curious to hear the wisdom of all ofthose BG weaponmasters out there. - Twilight p.s. Is anyone else even at all a bit, *perturbed*, by the fact that most of the really good weapons (in particular their upgrades) occur practically at the end of the series!!! Sure, after I've finished Sendai and Abzighal/whatever, then I'll have all this great equiptment for the last two, short, game areas. Whooppee-do-de-whoop! This is very disappointing to me (kind of like looking at a hospital T.V. behind the shoulders of a priest giving you your Last Rites and realizing that all f the numbers on your lottery ticket have just been pulled)!!!!! |
Foebane +5 is available soon after Yaga-Shura (if not sooner) and is a weapon I used right up till the end. Larlochs minor drain might be USELESS as a spell, but as an on hit effect its so good its cheesy.

Hello,
well, let's just say that Foebane is gone, went away, I lost it gambling. Opps. - Twilight |
My main character is a Paladin (Undead Hunter) with Purifier +5 in his right hand and Runehammer +5 in his left hand. Second Character is a true class Cleric with Flail of Ages (complete) and Erinne Sling +5. Rocking combo's both.

Hello,
Runehammer is a good weapon, but, since my paladin is already safe from draining attacks, I passed it on to my fighter/thief (who wields it as the alternative to the axe Abezighal-wheezie-whatever; also starring, Crom Fayre in her left hand, usually). I use the Purifier, but have the Daystar as its alternative whenever the undead get a little too uppity. The thief is thus able to get the protection and the extra damage against undead (and, with Minsc switching to the Mace of Dispruption +2 if necessary, I must say that the undead haven't been much of a problem lately). I think that the Answerer is a better weapon as far as its inherent powers go (of course, whenever I switch from the Equalizer, then I match up against a foe chasting charm and confusion!), it's just that it speed of **9** is quite sad. - Twilight |
