BG2 is excellent for newbies, although it does make more sense if you finish BG1 first. You shoudnt have too many problems if you work at it. Its not the most reliable game out there but with the latest patches it is relatively stable. Ive never had saves not work.

I'd never played RPG's before BG, so enjoy. After your first time through, you'll get the hang of it.

I never played BG1, and I regret that now. :( </font>

In my opionion BG1 and Tales are a must before moving on to BG2 and throne...to get the feel for the engine and the real attachment to your character you need more than just a pre-generated 15th level dude. That takes all the fun out of it.

Although dont let the first area of BG2 (irenicus' dungeon) put you off the game. I did me at first but theni loved it afterwards, i must have played the game at least 9 times and every time i find something new.

The Warhammer Trollslayer series would be my guess. Felix is the guy who was daft enough to pledge to follow Gotrek Gurnisson, trollslayer, and record his final battle for posterity. He was drunk at the time obviously. Great books.

Thats it the warhammer character Felix, your not telling me you actually play that game are you ?

andrewas 06-08-2002 10:48 AM

Um let me check.

Army of space marines, horde of lizardmen. Yep, i play warhammer. Or at least I used to. Competent opposition is hard to find around here.

But the books are good, whether or not your a player.
