i am playing through the throne of bhaal expansion for the first time, and i discovered that characters, when gaining higher levels, don't get many advantages. my fighters get +3 hp, a skill, and a proficiency slot every now an then, and my mage doesn't allways get new spells when he levels up. the new skills are nice, but once a fighter has greater whirlwind attack and smite, the other ones aren't really worth the trouble of activating them.

is it just me, or is the difference between a level 22 paladin and a level 25 paladin extremely small? except for a useless proficiency slot and 9 hp (out of 180something) there's no difference (oh, wait, i can summon a deva twice. now only if the deva wheren't so darn weak.)

fighters, rangers and my mage, all the same problem. only aerie has a real advantage when leveling, and she will have all the skills quite soon.

yeah the relative differences become quite small when you get beyond a certain point.Although the fighter can get a massive CON boost to his hp if you can his CON high enough. But surely youre powerful enough already?

Yeah, among the many things that make ToB an expansion pack instead of a stand-alone game is thei, IMHO. The mages especially stall, with no further spell slots. Really big disappointment, no matter how much Volo and Elminster ooh and goo in the (also poor) manual.

You have a good point there but if the game is too easy then try some of the mods.
