what is the best type of sword to use? I'm using 2 sword style with katanas but I dont think there the best. Is there any good long/short/bastard swords later on and what would be the best 1?

Well, there is always the CLUA hack if you want that cheap bastard sword you get in the Nine Hells...actually ToB has quite a few Katanas with special abilities, otherwise 2-h swords have been boosted. I'll go dig up some notes later...

However I stress the fact that this is a major spoiler and I wouldnt reccommend looking at it till you've at least completed the expansion, but thats just me. It's much more fun finding out the hard way..believe me.

2 handed swords are teh best. By far!
