Those numbers, what do they really mean? 100 open locks? Succeeds 100% of the time? if so then why can you go above? open locks of difficulty up to 100?
and detect traps/illusions? skill of 50 means 50% chance of detecting per round?
and do you have to have detect traps enabled to detect illusions?

basically yes, you can get by with 100% in each, but that doesnt gurantee it working, i like to have 125-150 in my favorites to make sure they never fail

Deathcow is correct. Incidentally, although you can get tons of points (280 i believe is the max you can allocate per category), the game "wraps" them at something like 255. So don't go any higher than about 200 in any one skill.

How about detect illusions? I had the idea of a wizard slayer (or other fighter) dualled to thief with lots of detect illusion to counter mislead and other irritations, but if you have to sit still and detect traps for it to work it´s rather pointless.

<font color="pink">You could just make an assassin. They have those skills, plus they can use wizard scrolls, so just buy some dtect illusion scrolls :D </font>

by the way....when you get to a high enough level to get Use Any Item, you should have enough skill points to put in all of your abilities

unless youre an assassin, i suppose, only getting 15% per level...

just saying that you could get detect illusion to a high level by the time you can use the scrolls, so it doesnt really matter
