Have just bought Throne of Bhaal and have entered Watchers keep.
Have got down to the 4th Level and am stuck getting through the double doors with the flames outside. I have the blue and purple oil and know the sequence to light the fires but I assume(from reading other comments) I need red oil also. I have searcjed everywhere on the level except 1 room in the illithid section which is locked.
Spent about 2 hours searching and re-searching but to no avail. Can anyone help?

Believe it or not, the Red Oil is in that room. ;)
To open the door, you need a key which is broken in half. But if you just search good enough through the whole Illithid Section, you'll find both parts.
In the most south room, you'll find an Illithid called Ulitharid, and the one half is among his loot, and the second half is in the top-left room, IIRC.
