Anyone know if there is a way to add Drizzt to your party and use him throughout the game?

Galadria 02-14-2002 07:43 PM

I think Baldurdash has a Drizzt kit for BGI but that's for the protagonist. No, regrettably, there's no way to have Drizzt in your party as an NPC.

Unless you create him as one of the characters in a fake multiplayer game. Create an Elf Ranger with the following stats (IIRC):
STR 13
DEX 20
CON 15
INT 17
WIS 17
CHA 11
Some of these might be different. I'm 100% sure only of STR, DEX, INT and WIS.
Use the portrait and sound files from the pack Galadria mentioned.
Of course, put proficiency points in Scimitar and Dual-Wielding.

Although I realize that this is not really the same thing.

You might try to CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("c6drizz") and then use CTRL + Q on him; this should add him to the party.

Thanks, I will give the create creature a try and see if it works.

I've tried creating Drizzt. When I do create creature, it does in fact work. But when I got to add him to my party, using CTRL Q, I get a blank portrait and then he starts talking and repeating the same thing over and over and over. So, I don't think it worked.

P.S I thought only Lawful good characters could use Twinkle, so how does he do it

Nim'ohtar 02-15-2002 10:16 PM

Only characters of Good alignment, any sub-aligned may use twinkle
As I understand it. That is, Lawful/Good, Neutral/Good, Chaotic/Good.

Thusly, no restriction

Actually, it did work. Drizzt doesn't have a character portrait, so all you see is the default blank portrait; you'd have to add a portrait for him. Also, he has only a limited dialogue as he is to be allied with you for only a short while normally; keeping him in the party keeps activating the dialogue. You might try deleting his dialogue tree (not recommended) or just putting up with his repeats.

Anyway, it does work, but I didn't say it would work perfectly. Because he's not a normal NPC who may join the party you must expect some strangeness.

Why have him in the party, he may even steal Viconia from you
