Sorry, but i'm a newbie, and don't know nothing about RPG, so if somebody can help me i will appreciate.
I didn't undestand how work THACO, Lore, and Saving Throw Bonus. Can you help me? Tkx |
THACO stands for "To Hit armor class Zero) - if you do a search of the forum you will find more than one post describing this in full
Lore is an indication of what items the character can identify (higher the better) Saving Throws are what the computer checks to see whether you take the full effects of a spell, dragons breath etc... i.e. they determine whether you roll, duck or deflect the effects(lower the better) Hope this helps some |
Tkx a lot Downunda,
but i didn't find nothing about THACO, can you aid me? |
Sure thang
example: Say you had a THac0 of 14 (this means that if an enemy had an armor class of zero you would need a total of 14 to hit him) This number is reached in a number of ways - 1)The computer randomly generates a number between 1 and 20 (1 always misses, 20 always hits) 2)modifiers (strength/dexterity/magic weapons etc...) are added/subtracted to this 3)armor class is added/subtracted to this (e.g. armor class of 2 = a 2 will be added to the roll, armor class of -4 = -4 will be subtracted from the roll) The final number is then compared to your THac0, if it is less than there is no hit, if it is equal to or greater than there is a hit. Hope this clears it up for ya ;) |
Uhnnnn
Very enlightening! Tkx again, my friend |
