Sup everyone, quick question here. on the 2nd level of wk with the for element rooms, that demon in the center, does he betray you when you free him? and if he does, if it a difficult battle?

He's a demon ... of course he does. [img]smile.gif[/img]

If you pay attention to the clues offered on how to beat him, NO. If you don't, it could be tough. The demon changes form through four different "phases" and the trick is to attack him with the right type of attack at the right time. [img]smile.gif[/img] Think of opposing elements to his elemental forms and you'll figure it out.

all righty thx. one more thing...im currently killing the ice golem and ice mephits...but all my things are innefective, im using fire and it hurts them, then they regenerate...kinda at a loss

Oh, I remember that now .... there is a trick to this level. Think about the position of the rooms and read EVERYTHING that is to be found and talk to that little imp in the first room to the west of the demon.

The trick is to open the doors in the right sequence and utilize the fan in the northwest. Remember the opposing elements? That applies to these rooms as well! Again, there are written clues scattered all around - left by the various mages who occupied this level. They actually spell out the proper sequence to open and close and the doors and how to utilize the fans, etc.

ok i got that. i killed the demon on accident :/. Edwin cast imprisonment w/out me knowing and it worked [img]tongue.gif[/img] . i hope the demon didnt have any sweet-ass items on him ><

Actually he *does* drop some items. If you didn't get them you might want to consider battling him again. I remember when I killed him initially (I did not use any spells that should have destroyed the items he was carrying), he did not drop any items, and I had to reload and kill him again. The second time around, I got my dues.

The items that he drops are as follows:
-Portal Key
-Circlet of Netheril (Cespenar can upgrade)
-Ixil's Spike (Cespenar can upgrade)

If you don't want to fight him again, and aren't opposed to using the cheat system, you could always summon these items.

The guy isnt very powerfull is you use the right magic at the right time. I first delayed him with summoned creatures 'till he shifted into his Ice form. Then I wasted him with Jaheira's wand of wonders.

You can take him to the Ice Room if you have started the fan so it is also poision in the room he will die quite quickly. :D

Heh, just have a Fighter/cleric, thats the easiest way, cast harm and hit him.. the he has 1-4 hp again.. wich u can take easy... took him in 2 rounds with 1 guy. 1 for harm to cast, 1 for hitting him twice, Flvl13/Clvl14

If you still have the flail of Ages, that is working great against the creature.
