This must be the most effective, yet boring weapon in the game..
In all places where there are bit tuffies there are often time to plan the attack a bit and by placing a few of theese traps victory is surely at your side. For example i figured Demonogorgon almost impossible to even harm. Then I placed 5 Spiketraps before summoning him and I didn't even got to se him before he started screaming in pain. 10 hits all between 40 and 70 in a second. As I said, it's very bornig but Oh so effective... |
Oh so effective yet oh so cheesy :D
Spike traps are way over powered. There are no resistances against traps which is why you can slay anything as long as you know where they will spawn. |
setting traps is fun. it is an ability to round out the somewhat weak state of a thief. i think they are great.

There are lots of yummy cheese techniques in the game... Yes spike traps are bad, but they are a HLA, and it does require that you devote several HLAs to spiketraps, and use them up to achieve this effect... It all comes down to a personal definition of cheese I believe. |
Could you shed a little light on which ones are immune Dundee laddie
I can't think of any but I've no doubt you're correct. |
If you can use some 'technique' which is in the game "by default", then it's not cheesy. It's smart thing to do. Everyone doesn't have to be some crazy person who charges with the head into the wall. Why to bother and waste time and resources on something, what you can finish or do much easier?
If I am standing at the door to the room, where I suspect are many baddies who want and will hurt me just because they think they can do it, then there's nothing "cheesy" when I open the door, shoot about 3-5 AE spells in it, few fireballs and lightings and add some other goodies on the top like Skull Traps and what not else cumbajaa (add yer mean spells here), and then slam the door close and wait till it's all silent; then walk in, count the corpses and pick the loot. I don't have to walk in, take the beating and return it like some crazy, cast some Time Stop and Project Image, added with Dragon Breath and Donkey Kick, flanked with the Swiping Missile of Teeth Busting and a bolt of WhackMaster +12 Long Range Extra Protection Remover. So Marillion, good idea and well done, and in no way cheesy. You simply used the brains and the means given to you and used them well. And as Dundee said, these Spike Traps don't work always on everything like this. |

Imagine my surprise when I found out that they are immuned to Spike Traps. They are the only ones who have this immunity to Spike Traps as far as I know. |

I perfectly agree. If you want to use spike traps Whailor, then that's just dandy. I simply find it very unrewarding to kill enemys this way. Certainly, laying a trap, and then luring the enemy back to the trap may seem tactical, but if you have the means to use effective melee attack, large area effect spells, then it's much simpler to do this and is a load more fun to watch IMHO <blockquote>quote:</font><hr>The Blue Men that you free on level 5 of Watcher's Keep. Also, spike traps deal piercing damage right If so then I suppose clay golems are also immune. |
I do not know what kind of damage Spike Traps deal, but I do know that it affects Clay Golems. My solo Assassin can confirm that.
