i got this little bugger and it's been upgraded by cespenar, but it's not giving my mage the extra spells. anybody know whassup wit' that?

you sure you upgraded it and did not get a no gold message of something? it dosent change in appearance if i recall. now that the obvious is out of the way...

i cant think of anything else. make sure its on a mage - it dont work with druids/clerics (i know somone that tried though) and make sure you can actualy cast spells of that level. do other spell-granting items work - ring of acuity/wizardy, the zerth blade etc.

yeah, it's been upgraded and it's on a wizard and he's level 25. now that i think of it he's got the ring of wizardry and that's giving him no extra spells either.

sounds like it is a bug. try chucking all of his items, resting, saving, reloading and re-equipping him. if that dosent clear all of his effects and fix it, try loading shadowkeeper and dump any weird effects. also chuck any unofficial patches, just in case. try a new game and see if it works there. shadowkeep in a ring of wizardry, dont bother playing to get it, takes to long.
