I've found several items during the game, liquid mercury, the eye of tyr and skull of the lich, to name a few. What the hell are they for?
|
Generally speaking, they are for item/weapon upgrades.
Oh, and if you want to know what specific items they are for, ask the imp in your pocket plane to go through your inventory. |
Err..... I've had the same problem with the very same items you mentioned (and some). the stupid imp just doesn't see them or something imp. i also tried that less then a man dwarf who supposedly makes "rare and unique items with rare and unique things" and he seems scared to death of me... i dont think it would have to do with banishing his mage friend to the center of the earth for an eternity... oh well. anyone know a site with the recipes on them?
|
If you have the item used for the upgrade but not the item TO BE upgraded then the IMP won't say jack about it.
I.E. you have the mercury but not the sword it is used on, then the IMP won't say anything about you having the Mercury when he looks through your inventory. Only the other way around will he tell you what to go looking for. If I find weird stuff I always stash it in one of those pillar-thingys. But as a rule you always find the Weapon/Armor first and then the item used for the upgrade last. |

the smith you refered to earlier is into much rarer, and more powerful, items than cespenar is capable of creating. i will say no more. but he's useless if you havent done BG1. and even then, youd need a particular item. everything will become clear (well, more clear than at present) when you meet tim goldenhand, nanoc and bandori. who you will meet. it is unavoidable.
