Hi.

Could some help a damsel in distress? Why is Coran able to detect traps but then can't disable them?

Thanks muchly.

If he can detect them he should be able to disarm them as well...

Once the trap is highlighted in red, click on the thieving button again. That's the one you use for picking locks and pickpocketing. An icon that looks like a wheel will appear in the place of the cursor (like when the stars and moon icon appears for a spellcaster who has selected a spell). Place the icon/cursor over the trap and click and the trap will be disarmed.

If All Else Fails, Here Is A Patent Idea Of Beaumanoirs!!!

...If All Else Fails When Disarming Traps, Get The Toughest Guy In Your Party And Just Go Run Over The Trap. Make Sure The Rest Of You Party Is Well Out Of Range of The Trap, And That The Sacrifice You Sent To Set The Trap Off, Was At Full Health When He Left...

Hmm, maybe you have another theif in your party, that has detected the trap automatically, and Coran cannot detect/disarm them, because you are wearing armour that fits his fighter standard, but also disables his theiving abilities?

Or maybe the same, but Coran just found the trap??

NOTE - I think you can detect traps, but not disarm with a high armour..

Yep. Fighter/Thieves and Cleric/Thieves can Detect Traps while wearing Full armor, but have to take it off to actually Disarm them. There are certain armors, though, that allow Thieving skills: A certain set of Full Plate armor will allow the wearer to Pick Pockets, Pick Locks, and Disarm Traps, although it still blocks your going into Stealth. Also, there's a certain suit of Chainmail that does not block ANY of the Thieving skills, even Stealth.
