I have finally arrived at what I think is the final level of Watchers Keep. I have completed the three trials and got the three keys.

However...

The group of monsters that spawns and attacks you when you turn the keys are impossibly hard! Help! Are there any tactics against these guys that I should be trying. I tried all the normal stuff - gating in demons, using every possible special ability, setting traps where they spawn (cheesey, but i was dsperate). You get the picture. How did everyone else beat these people? Please...

Have you got a mage of high level? Have him/her memorize Dragon's Breath a couple of times. Worked for me. Did 80 points daamage to one.

I did it like this:

Summon lots of ceratures (including Devas, who just...rocks [img]smile.gif[/img] ) and then get as far away as possible..then when tha summons have all died, just run in with a mage, cast time stop+improved alacrity, and summon lots of creatures again...I kept doing this until most of the enemies were gone, and then I just went in and let Korgan hack the last ones into pieces ;)

My problem is fast becoming apparent...

1. No Improved Alacrity,
2. No Summon Deva,
3. No Dragons Breath,

I did try just summoning everything but it all got hacked to pieces pretty quickly, and that was with my party helping them out. Maybe I should come back at a higher level for this one.

Um..barry...at what level are you?

As far as I remember:
Me (Bard) - 25th lvl
Keldorn - 22nd lvl
Anomen - 7/22nd lvl
Cernd - 16th lvl
Jan - 13/15th lvl
Edwin - 22nd lvl

I have the capability for all those nice spells but I chose other ones instead. Maybe I am just whining with no cause. I will try it again and see how I get on.

Well with those levels, there shouldn't be a problem..

my team when i done that was mazzy minsc jaheira arie imoen and me a conjurer it was a breeze try to build ur levels first.

if u think that is bad u should see the guy on the bottom floor

there was an earlier thread which discussed solutions to this sticky situation. can't remember the title though. should be possible without using any of those massively powerful spells. i know cos i did it.

Right, thanks guys. Finally got rid of all of them. Just a few questions:

1. When I summoned a Dark Planeter (it turned out Edwin did have the spell, but not memorised) and then tried to summon Deva's with Cernd and Anomen the message "You cannot have more than one of this type of creature summoned" for both of them. Can anyone shed light on this?

2. Come on... You know what I am going to say next. The guy in the hole... he's quite hard isn't he? No, don't worry. I am sure there are other threads for that question.
