Heya! I`m getting close to the end of the game and I wonder, can I do Ulgoths beard,Durlags tower and the rest of the TOTSC quests after beating Sarevok or do I have to do them before? And, if i hack the XP-cap I`ve heard that the XP you achieve will automatically be turned back when you import your character to BG2, is this right?

Regards Pip!

You'll have to do the added areas of TotSC before battling Sarevok, as killing the big guy automatically ends the game.

And I don't think the XP will be set back to 161.000. If you export a character from SoA with more than 161.000 XP and then import it again it isn't set back either.

You must do all the sidequests (Ulgoth's Beard, Durlag's Tower etc.) before you kill Sarevok. Once you kill him, the game is over.

As for the xp cap... well, if you import your character you start BG II with exactly the same xp as when you killed Sarevok - so the amount itself doesn't get turned back, even if you went over the cap and had, say, 170,000xp, you would start with that in BG II.

I am 99% sure of the above - there is a tiny chance I might be wrong

Um.....Everything I've read says that when you import a character into BG2, your EXP is set according to these rules:
If your character is from BG1 only: 89,000
From BG1 with ToSC: Whatever your EXP was, but no lower than 89,000 and NO HIGHER than 161,000
From BG2: Unchanged

Yes, the computer knows which game you exported from, so that's why characters can be taken out of BG2 and put back in without taking an EXP penalty.

You need not hack the EXP cap, as 161,000 is quite high enough!

I completed the game earlier today, with a Level 9 Theif. I am upset, as I only needed 160,000 to get him to level 10. I finished with 150,000, and I did every known sub-quest on the game.

Thats quite scary, i managed to complete the game yesterday with a level 9 theif (about 150 000 xp as well) Who i also wanted to be level 10 as well so i tried to do every subquest i could see but still didn't make it.

If you are planning to take the character into BG2, at least where BG2 is concerned it won't really matter at all because you level up very fast there.

Funnily enough - I'm just about to complete (running the Thieves' Maze) and my own Elven Thief has just hit level 10 with a full set of companions...

You BASTARD!!!....But Elven theifs level up faster than Halfling Theifs, do they not??? Surely, there must be some reason why you did it and me and Andy didnt!!!

I know I did miss a few quests, due to me killing certain people....
