Has anyone tried to make that armour the smith in the monk village says he can make without cheating to get the golden (if not and the silver) pantaloons?
|
SPOILERS
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / I haven't done this myself, but I know the secret...it's a pretty kick ass set of armor, and you need three pairs of pantaloons, not just the gold and silver. |
Where du u fint those things
is one of them starfall ore or what is it for??? |
No the starfall ore is used with a mace found in Watcher's keep.
There are three pantaloons, one found in BGI, one in BGII, and one in ToB. ------------------ http://members.aol.com/ladyliliara/images/flypig.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/hero2.gif Goddess of Undress Co-owner of the Evil Petting Zoo and Sorceress of the HADB OLD COOTS eye candy and Disrobed Division of the ORT And her sidekick Pink "No on has escaped love altogether, and no one ever will, as long as beauty exists and the eyes can see" --Longus-- |
It's doable, although I haven't done it.
To elaborate on Aelia Jusa (that is, where they're at) SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The golden ones are in BG1, in the friendly arm inn i believe, someone gives them to you to clean them. If you have them in your inventory when you import to BG2, they'll end up in the trapped wall painting at the beginning of Irenicus's dungeon. To get the Silver ones in BG2, do the Buried Alive quest, but don't let the woman go. Instead, meet with the guy outside of the Copper Coronet, and that'll be your ransom. To get the Bronze ones, free the adventurers in Abizigal's dungeon, and they'll bring them back to you And once you do, you'll have all the parts for the Big Metal Unit! |
It's very difficult to complete these legitimately, especially if you're good. You also need to have imported your character from BG1 all the way through to ToB.

It was nice of the programers to do something special for the players who continued their characters through from the very beginning, but DAMN.....
Wasn't this, just a little out there? Did anyone, without cheating, carry all of these items throughout the games and expansions? If you did, please respond to this post. I actually did carry the pantaloons through all of BGI & ToSC. What a waste of space! It wouldn't have been SUCH a big deal with a bag of holding, but you don't get that until half-way through SoA. I carried my original character, a paladin, through BGI & ToSC, but once I bought SoA, I'd spent 6 months away from this character and wanted to try one of the new "classes". I started a monk and played him through the end of ToB. Kind of neat, but as someone who bought and payed for 2 games & 2 expansions(not to mention IWD, HoW, & PS:T), I think it was a bit too tricky. Also, in addition to the BMU, what about the Rod and ammo? How does that happen? I read about it on baldurdash, but.... ------------------ http://www.usflag.org/animate/flagwave1.gif "The Martyr" (excerpt) There is sobbing of the strong, And a pall upon the land; But the People in their weeping Bare the iron hand: Beware the People weeping When they bare the iron hand. --Herman Melville (written after the assasination of President Abraham Lincoln) [This message has been edited by Ronn_Bman (edited 10-16-2001).] |
I didn't carry all the items through from BG I, though I have had the same character. I'm almost ready to complete TOB though, I just have to bo back and get Balthazor the Monk, then onto Melissan. I was thinking of starting another
character back in BG I, just so I could max their stats with the tomes (which I didn't immediately realize would boost stats beyond max, so used to improve some of the NPC's instead. until I cought on). Kevin Dorner, at his Baldurdash site ( http://members.home.net/mrkevvy/pantaloons.html ) writes an interesting essay on the pantaloons if anyone is interested. |
I would like to know what this "Big Metal Unit" "Rod" and "Ammo" has to do with anything, what it does, how good it is etc...........
