How do you get into the locked room, I've completed the game but got into Balthazars castle with Saemon's help so never used the locked passageway but I'm intrigued

Please help

Ask the innkeeper if he knows how to get into the monastery, he directs you to a couple in the house next to Marlowe's. They want to kill Balthazar and give you the key, which opens the locked door.
