Last time that I asked for strategies here I got some really good responses that I hadn't thought up. I'm getting wiped by that bloody monk Balthazar. Is there any way to contain him and those solar stances of his? The duck and summon method isn't panning out either, he kills everything that I throw his direction.
Party is: A wild mage, cav.,Korgan,Minsc,Jaheria, and an Assassin. I'm low on tanks right now, Saravok bit it with a blue dragon and I didn't really want to go at him again. Korgan,Minsc are low level, I had to pick them up to fill a void in the party. But the Cav., and Jaheria are high level, and so is the wild mage. The Assassin has been worthless since the halfway point os SOA. Thanks for your help.

Good lord, Assasin as useless? What about Spike Traps?

Hmm...i creamed the uber_monk_01. more then once. can your Mage summon Planetars? Can Jahiera summon Devas? If so, use either. they have _very_ nice spells, devas. Use Energy blades if you have them. Just gang up on Balthazar. Kill him really fast. keep the summons on his buddies. Berserk Korgan and use his whirlwind. Set a spike trap with your assasin even though he's already in battle. it will do pretty good damage. Or exploding trap. as soon as you kill him, the rest will be cake. Use all of your special attacks, especially with fighters. Can Jahiera cast greater restoration? If so, _use_ this most excellent spell. Good luck.

Bwah, Balthazar is easy. I wiped him out the first time with my low level party. Maybe you could decrease difficulty?

Balthazar... ... I had a thrilling time with him first time round... ...

But now I know! An easy way to spank his a** to the Abyss and beyond... ...

Smite him... ...

BwerWahHAHAHAHA!!!!

Get one fighter to smite him, the other fighters should then Greater Whirlwind him... ... Get your summons to handle his minions... ...

ARE YOU CRAZY? IN MY OPINION THE ASSASIN IS MY SECOND FAV. CHARECTER IN THE WHOLE GAME(MAGE IS FIRST.) BACKSTABBING,TRAPS, POISON WEAPONS. THEY ARE THE MOST USEFUL CHARECTER. AND IF THAT LEAVES YOU WITH NO THIEF OF ANY KIND THEN THAT WOULD MAKE ME WANT A ASSASIN EVEN MORE.

I'M SORRY IF I HAV OFFENDED YOU, BUT I JUST THINK THAT IS

REALLY CRAZY

That would depend on which version on Balthazar you're facing. If you're facing the normal one, just go after him- greater whirlwinds, summons, and mages breaching. I'm not too clear on beating the improved one tho.

No matter what class you choose to pick on, there's always someone who's in love with it. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Bards are a great example: half of everyone LOVES them, the other half HATES them.
