Hi there,

Over the weekend I thought I would try to create a completely new character rather than continue from SoA.

I tried creating the swashbuckler and assassin on 2 separate occasions. Went for proficiencies in long swords, katanas, bows and dual-wielding. Boy, did I get a rude shock when I realised both times that TOB only equipped the character with darts as the melee attacking weapon (checked bag of holding - it only held bullets, bolts, flail of ages and bolts).

I didn't even dare to proceed to meet Illasera from there without a decent sword/katana. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

Do any of you know if this is a bug or the game is just programmed to give "fresh" swashbucklers and assassins a hard time?

Aside: Tried creating a monk too, it was pretty good at this stage. Best part was, no weapons were needed. Hehehe...

I had the same Prob. I think it is programmed that way b cuz i got the same things. And it sucked b cuz i had nobody that could use a flail ir a morning star.

Well, I guess the only way to try the kit is to start out in SoA all over again, and I don't think I'll do so (already running out of steam in my second run as kensai-mage).

Thanks for confirming anyway... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

there is the simpler option of using Shadowkeeper to edit your assassin/swashbuckler, and give him/her a decent katana or something along those lines. if you feel like that is "cheating", just dump all the stuff you don't need from the pre-made bag of holding at the beginning of ToB and don't sell it. that way it can all 'balance out' somewhat.

Another option would be to recall ALL the NPCs from SoA(you get XP for recalling them even if you don't add them, or keep them in your party), have them join your party, take what you need. and then dump them.

I'm not sure what they all have because I continued my original party, but I'm sure there would be something good enough to start with, and then you can buy and find great stuff all the way through the game.

Shadow Keeper would be much simpler, but if you don't want to use it....
