Please Help!!! I am getting a new computer and was wondering if there was any way to transfer my saved game of Baldur's Gate to my new computer without losing anything. Can I save it to a disk? Thank you for any help that you can give.

Find the folder/directory where you've installed BG, within it you'll find a subfolder titled "save" - this subfolder will contain all your save games. Each savegame doesn't take up too much space, ranging from 100++ KB to around 900 KB (depending on how much of the game you've completed).

I've had to uninstall BG a couple of times for various reasons, and each time I've saved the savegames from the 'save' folder on to a floppy disk and then copied them back when the game's been re-installed. No problems! (In fact I often make copies of savegames in case I do something really stoopid!)
The only thing you'd have to watch out for is if the savegame were pre-Sword Coast installation, or pre-patch add on, that might cause problems I'd imagine... |
Hmmm, Sintag: haven't you posted this question on the BGC forums too? I thought I answered the question there already... Guess not.
