I just cant even get close to defeating the chromatic demon in level 2 of watchers keep.
The furthest I have got it down to is injured but it then seemed to heal itself back to barely injured where it stayed until my party was defeated.
I have finished shadows of amn but due to problems with my computer I had to restart it recently and I am only on level 3. Do I have to gain higher levels and come back on level 6 or am I doing something drastically wrong?
Any help would be great as this is really pissing me off!

The most Important thing is to hit him with magic that is Opposite of whatever form he has taken. use cold magic when he is in fire form, use fire magic when he is in ice form, etc... have your fighters attack and take punishment while mages and clerics cast spells. Magic items are also helpful, potions of firebreath, wand of frost, etc. keep up the damage because he heals himself.

Note: There are ways to hurt him when he is in slime and air form, but I don't remember what they are.

Actually you don' have to - Lord Raptor (F/M/T) and Sarevok kicked shit out of him and I only used 3 potions of super-healing - make good use of Greater Whirlwind attacks

I soloed this guy yesterday and I did in Demogorgon today bymyself, sorry bragging over now but remember to lover his resistance and improved aclarity in a timestop with lots of skulltraps help.
