In the upper part of Firewine Bridge map i met strange woman screaming something about some jug. When i wanted to take it from her, she suddenly died and very ugly OgreMage appiered. My question is: is it possible to kill this Mage? I tried *everything* on him, but he seems invulnerable to me. My party is:

Jaheira - lvl 4
Khalid - lvl 6
Ajantis - lvl 6
Kivan - lvl 5
Imoen - lvl 7
Cleric/Mage - lvl 4

Oh yeah, it's possible. Long time since I killed it so I don't even remember my strategy then but now I would use dispel magic, then put Khalid or Ajantis to take some damage while others shoot with arrows and mages cast magic missile.. It should work.

I remember only that I killed it quite easly. I didn't even belive first that he was some kind of thought guy.

I used protection from magic scroll, then wand of ice.

Yes, he is very, very tough. I recently fought him with a low level party consisting of a druid, bard, Xan, and Safana. I also used Poe, the bard on the bridge, whom my pretty little bard charmed into helping the party with the help of Alergnon's cloak. Actually, you can enlist Melium's help that way as well, although chances are you already fought and killed him given where you're at. Anyway, it took me all day to kill Kahrk. He is devastating with that cutlass-like sword (at least as it appears in the graphic).

I kept the party back and and had one character initiate dialogue with Carsa. Then I pulled that character back and suprisingly Karhk just stood there. His protective spells will eventually run out if you wait it out (this takes about 5 minutes of real time). Then you have a fighting chance against him.

I ended up having to charm him with Algernon's cloak. Then I slept numerous times (recharming Kahrk before each rest period) and had fun watching him wipe out respawned enemies. I left the the area; Kahrk is unable to leave with you--he can't squeeze through when he tries. Then you can fire at will upon him.

Thanks a lot. I finally killed him, but it was so close. I hope Sarevok would not be so tough to kill. Or am I mistaken?

Sarevok will be tougher, but then your party will be on a higher level.

I do not remember this ogre mage being all too hard to defeat (the rest of the dungeon was another story though), although it HAS been a long time since I have fought her. My current party is getting ready to head over in that direction so I am looking forward to the fight

BTW, the ogre mage that I fought the other day at one of the coastal maps was a slaughter. She should have thought to memorize something better than Lightning Although now that I think about it, Lightning could prove quite painful in the tight corridors of the Firewine Dungeon...

I just thought of something - how come there are more ogre-mages in the game than normal ogres? I thought ogres were supposed to be thick, not have the intelligence to be mages?

Good point. I wonder if there is an intelligent subrace.
