i've created a new item and spell for ToB but i'm sure there too powerful. cananyone give me advice on toneing them down.

Here they are:
(i'm working on the items story)
Robe of speed
This robe was entwined with aura cleansing and speed inhancing fabrics many eyons ago by the white mages of Thrios. It improves spellcasting speed but gives no exterior protection

STATISTICS:

Equipped Abilities:
Improved Haste
Improved aluracy
Improves casting speed by 6
Weight: 3
Only usable by:
Mage (single, dual, & multi-class)

(as it is with the robe as soon as you press to cast meteor the meteor is created)

Summon Slayer Horde (Conjuration/Summoning)
Level: 10
Range: 90 yards
Duration: 120 SEC
Casting Time: 9
Area of Effect: special
Saving Throw: None

This Spell Summons a Horde of slayers to fight at your will. its summons 3 slayers then a 50% chance of a forth and a 25% chanche of a Slayer Captain

slayers stats:
STR:19
DEX:18
CON:19
INT:18
WIS:10
CHA:10
HP:80
AC:-2
THACO:-5
ATTACKS:2.5

Slayer Captain's Stats:
STR:23
DEX:22
CON:25
INT:23
WIS:22
CHA:21
HP:160
AC:-5
THACO:-7
ATTACKS:4

If the user is constantly under the effect of an Improved Haste and Improved Alacrity spell then it's way too powerful. Improved Alacrity combined with your spellcasting speed discounted by 6 means that in one round you could realistically cast at least:

- up to 5 Dragon's Breath spells; or
- if you were facing a dragon, you could cast Remove Magic, Lower Resistance (twice), Greater Malison, and Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting; or
- if you were facing a mage you could cast Spellstrike, Remove Magic, Lower Resistance, Greater Malison and a major damage causing spell, all in the one round. At this rate you'll kill ANY mage in the game, no matter their level, within 2=3 rounds.

If you reduce it to maybe Improved Haste and Improved Alacrity once/day and the spellcasting speed discount to 5 then it becomes more balanced. Or give it some kind of penalty.

You could make it so the robe has a massive armour class penalty like -10 and a huge saveing throw penalty of about -15 beacause of the mage doing so much spell casting. ANd make the slayer spell have a 60% chance of them turning hostile on you.

Nice idea's. although 60% chance of turning hostile is WAY to much(i still want it to be a very powerful spell). for the robe i was more thinking of +4 to casting speed , permenent improved aluracy (this was the whole point of the robe BTW), and maybe toneing it down to haste if not removing it altogether.

Fair enough. If you want permanent improved alacrity (which is a huge advantage) then you should increase the spellcasting speed by 2 or something so that it balances. You could explain it by saying that since the robe keeps you constantly in touch with the Weave, the sheer strain of managing all that magical energy means that it takes a little longer to cast the spell, although there is no waiting time between casting spells. How are you planning on maintaining the constant Improved Alacrity effect anyway? What condition are you using, the only one I can think of is Cast Spell on Specific Condition and casting Daer'Ragh's Aura Cleansing at the start of each round. Unless you've created your own extension?
