Hello
I've been playing BG for about 3 years now (I Think). Just found this site and i think its excellent. I know a lot about the BG series so hope to be able to help people out now and again.
Anyway my question is: one Thing i've never found is the Helm of opposite allignment - any body know where this is.
Cheers

Welcome!

It can be CLUAed into existence, but as far as I know that item was never implemented into the game. I could be wrong about that.

Yeah thats what i thought or i'd have found it by now.
But i was reading earlier in some other message about the sword of vampairism and how to get that and i was amazed cos i thought that that could only be clua consoled too.
So any one know for sure - i'm about 80% it doesn't exist in the game
Are there any other items like this

The helm of opposite allignement does seem to exist. I have never found it though, but a lot of people have said that they found it so i'm pretty sure it isn't just a rumor. It's supposed to be on the demonknight in Durlag's tower, part of TotSC. It can only be yours if you kill him the first time you meet him and ask a certain NPC to give you the tour of the place.

Another item like this is "The Root of the Problem" the Club +1, +3 vs. unnatural creatures. It has been the subject of pixel by pixel searches and never found. Apparently it was ever implemented.

HHMMM Yeah i never found that club either. But i remember reading somewhere that for good alligned groups the best cleric was viconia with the helm of opposite allignment. So I assume that maybe it is there to be found. I mean the method of obtaining the sword of vampirism is just wierd. So maybe there is a way. Still not too sure

I believe JR Jansen is correct. I remember seeing the helm in an inventory list on another site, and they had "Tales" listed beside it. I will have to try finding it next time through
