I have been going to Durlag’s Tower off and on. On the last trip I made it through the wardens and down into the 1st lower level. I killed all the doppelgangers that you see from twisting the statues. I picked up all the wardstones in the bedroom and, somewhere along the way, the door to the throne room (off the main entrance area) opened so I went in there and killed the three doppelgangers and then started to explore the torture room. I was out of space in my packs though, so I decided to leave. Now I am back, and I cannot figure out how to get the door open to the throne room. And now, the statues no longer turn either. Any ideas? I really hope I didn’t screw it up so badly that I can’t continue. Thanks.

Try hitting the sparring dummies in the first room - this caused me to reload from hours earlier because I didn't think of this first!
Just doing Durlags myself, one floor down from you - good luck |
Oh, and uh WELCOME TO IRONWORKS!

Is there a particular order to hit them in? The middle dummy seems to open the door to the bedroom, but I can't seem to get any others to open. I had tried that and got so frustrated that I summoned animals and had them attack the dummys enmasse. Still nothing. GB.

try placing and removing stuff from the tables in the bedroom? Dunno, maybe you'll have to use a Relocation cheat or something? Bummer Dude!

Hi there. I haven't experianced this myself because I went staight through this level, BUT as I understand it once you pass the 4 Wardens then this is the point-of-no-return. If you go back up and try again then the door combinations are messed up. Sorry if this isn't helpful
One thing about Durlag's is that you have to keep going, there is no point in collecting all the treasure. Its such a long haul back to the surface anyway and you don't need the money. If you haven't already got the best equipment that money can buy, then it's too late now! |
Thanks to everyone who gave me ideas on post or private. Guess I have to let this one go. What a bummer though. That was the big thing of TOSC. GB.

Green Budha this happened to me too. It depends on what level you've reached in this stage. Did you get to the room on the right of the large hall where you fight the 3 dopplegangers? If you did there are switches in this room that open all the doors. If you can't get back in there go to the bed room where you get those ward stones. Put your character as close to those switches as you can and start moving them.
I know i got out of this. If thats not the way then its got something to do with those couloured wardstones. Hope this works |
Alright I am out. I had to break down and use a code to teleport me somewhere random on the level, then work my way back to that room with all the switches. I tried everything. I think it probably is true in Durlag's that once you start, just keep going. I haven't tried to rest in Durlags yet, but we shall see. Coran sure is working overtime though. Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions.

The point of their being puzzles in a game, is so that you get stuck. I remember being very very stuck in Durlags, in a similar situation to you, but after hours of hitting different things, I did it. Without one cheat. It can all be done.
