This spell is great! I cast it in Gromnirs Barracks just to have a little extra damage and every guard that walked in died instantly. Also, it seems as though Cleric/Anythingelse might be the best soloists. 4 armor of faiths make you invincible, and if you're a mage a protection from magical energy makes you immune to spells. AoF stops most elemental damage.

I agree that Storm of Vengeance is a great spell especially agains a bunch of enemies at once. I think it's the best cleric spell.

I haven't tried Storm of Vengeance yet, but that barracks may be a poor test for its usefulness. Those guys in the barracks are fodder. I sent Minsc, and Sarevok in, both charging with Whirlwind, and the room was just a bloody mess after a few rounds. Just a bunch of weak orcs and an orog or two. Any area-effect spell would have wasted them (wilting, dragons breath, comet...)
