I've just entered BG and I noticed that my experience points of my character didn't rise anymore. It's kind of fixed on 89.000 and I need 90.000 tp go to the next level. I tried killing ankhegs to check, and yep nobody goes over 89.000. Is this a bug or should I just re-install?

89,000 is the standard experience point cap. So it's perfectly normal, not a bug or glitch - you simply can't go any higher. If you install Tales of the Sword Coast, you can go up to 161,000 - but if not, you're stuck at 89,000.

As Arledrian pointed out, if you buy Tales of the Sword Coast you are able to go up to 161,000exp. (Recommended)
If you can't afford TotSC then there are xp cap removers for download from one of the many great links from Iron Works. (use at your own risk)
Aside from this there is a downloadable MOD called Dark Side of the Sword Coast that give you all the exp you will ever need.

You can not down load Dark side of the sword coast and load it until you buy and install "Tales of the Sword Coast" and since Tails of the
Sword Coast only cost $12.00 to $15.00 now it is well worth the buy.

It is definitely worth it, Silashe. Sure it's shit that you can't go any higher, but you really are supposed to play Tales of the Sword Coast before you go on to BG II anyway [img]smile.gif[/img]

Try finding a file called xpcap.zip in the internet. It is the best experience cap remover to use.

Just one more little question from a late BG discoverer, are you supposed to finish first BG before using tales of the sword coast or is it just an expansion pack?
I'm sure i'm going to by all the rest of BG, discovered it rather late, but I'm catching up

Oh you must do Tales of the Sword Coast before you finish BG. You won't get a chance to after the game.
