Ok, I have reinstalled BGII. I have deleted my game folder, reinstalled, and tried the official patches, plus the fixpack linked to in this forum, plus various other files.

What I can not fix is:

When my protagonist has Staff of the Magi equipped, the game text keeps scrolling: <PROTAGONIST>: Protected from Evil

What can I do about this? Does anyone know?

Is your AI on? Are you using any custom AIs? If yes, try turning it off.
