I decided to reinstall BG2 and play it through for the millionth time. I have never done the illithium ore quest and I seem to have run into a problem-

I talked to the woman in the promenade and paid her the 1k to get the name of her supplier, the dwarf in the Copper Cornet.
I go to him and he tells me if I find his brother in the temple ruins I can have the ore.
I searched the temple ruins inside and out (killed everything already) and didn't find him. I went back to the dwarf in the inn and he said this
"aye girl, so we meet again"
"so there ye are, me dear, sweet, thick headed brother returns"

Now he won't say anything else to me and the quest was taken out of my journal. Did I miss something? [img]tongue.gif[/img] </font>

that is not what i remember.. a brother?

some spoilers below:
as far as i remember, you can get fake ore and real ore. There is nothing I recall that would make me remember looking for a brother to get the real ore. Just looking for a thief which can be found in the bridge as i recall.

Lady Blue03 is playing with Unfinished Business installed, which restores a lost part of the illithium quest.

Lady Blue: First off, Reload. Next, go through the Temple Ruins and <u>look everywhere</u>. If you we trapped in an underground temple filled with Undead beasties of every description, wouldn't you want to hide?

Just one hint to nudge you along in the general direction. Explore the corridors after opening the first shadow door.

Here's another hint once you do find him. Save before you talk to him, because you might find it necessary to cast a certain spell on him first (at least I always do, because otherwise he ends up dying on me and I somehow doubt he'll respawn).

I was actually talking about saving before you talk to the brother in the Temple Ruins. I'll include a spoiler below explaining why............

You'll find him in the area behind the "AMAUNATOR" trap. I recommend casting Protection from Fire on him before you talk to him; otherwise, he walks through the trap and usually dies. Maybe he'll then respawn at the Copper Coronet and maybe not - I have no idea.

Desuma Malevois, what version is your UBusiness? In v15, the brother does not spawn there, but somewhere safer( and closer to the exit).
