Sorry if this has been posted before...

This is my second run through the BG series. I had forgotten how frustrating it is when you get the above message when trying to speak to someone (actually, almost anyone; be this shopkeeper, innkeeper, commoner, peasant, and so on, and so on...).

Does anyone know a way in which this problem can be solved so people will speak to my character when he tries to initiate conversation with them?
