I've had the sudden urge to play BG all the way through. Problem is I don't have TotSC.
Do I need it to use BGTUTU? And if I do, is there a way around it without finding TotSC and buying it. [ 05-23-2006, 08:01 AM: Message edited by: Ivelliis ] |

http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/ind...id=141&Itemid= i learn: If you have Baldur's Gate without Tales of the Sword Coast, or if you would rather not use EasyTutu, the original BG1Tutu converter is also available. This will automatically translate all resources from a BG1 install into BG2. Click on "Read More" for further details and instructions.Everything below ONLY applies if you are using Tutu v4. If you are using EasyTutu, please visit the site linked to in the right-hand pane instead for instructions. |
Many thanks

I believe easy tutu has just released a version to attempt to allow it to work without ToTSC as well...

I've hit a snag.
Baldur's Gate 2 is classed as installed on my PC. In Add/Remove Programs it exists. I click remove and it comes up "do you want to remove..". I click ok, the bar goes up (in about a second) and it's still in Add/Remove. It's not in C:/Program Files/Black Isles/Baldur's Gate II/ Which is the place I'd install it too. Any ideas anyone? |
1. you can remove it from the registry.
2. you can reinstall it. Instead of using the autorun, explore the CD and run the setup file directly. |
I tried running setup.exe directly. Just goes on to uninstall, which doesn't work.
How do I remove it from the registry? [ 05-24-2006, 09:13 AM: Message edited by: Ivelliis ] |
Start->run
type 'regedit' without quotes, and then hit enter Right, messing up with registry can really do bad things to your system. do so at your own risk!! go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE then find Black Isle, or Bioware, and delete any references to BG2 go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> SOFTWARE and do same thing you may go then Ctrl+F or Ctrl+F3 to find any other reference to Baldur and delete it, but that shouldn't be necessary. Be really careful of what you delete. |
I did it myself. I first went to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE and deleted Bioware/Baldurs GateII Then I searched for Baldur and it came up with some uninstall info. Assuming this was on the Add/Remove panel I deleted that too. It works *cheers and starts installing BGI* |
