My solo Thief mage Keeps getting SMOKED by sarevok, literaly man, when he starts talking to me i know im a dead man. here is my solo theif's equipment.
Short Bow+1 Short Sword+3 Arrows of Detonation, 20 Arrows of Peircing, 25 Arrows of Acid, 40 Arrows+2, 40 Potion of Fiery Burning, 5 Potion of Explosions, 1 Oil of Speed, 5 Wands of Fire, 3 Wand of Lighting, 1 ALSO, what kind of Disarm trap do you have to have to disarm the traps in the center. I have 50ish and they blew up right in my face. And could i pickpocket sarevok? ,maybe steal his sword :D |
Actually, if I was going to be a solo player in that room, I'd say Thief/Mage would definitely be the right class to try it with.
First off: The traps on the central icon of Bhaal CANNOT be disarmed, at all. Live with it. It makes all the difference in the world if you deal with Sarevok's cronies first. Don't let the big S see you! You're a Thief, right? You've got Stealth, right? Use that sucker! (A Mage named Semaj can see you even if you're invisible, while the others can't. Semaj will Dimension Door out into the room--too bad he forgot to bring any backup with him.) Yes, Sarevok has two cronies left. They're Invisible. What are you going to do about that? Watch out for the Battle Horrors at the back of the room and along the right-hand wall. |
Does your mage-thief know Monster Summoning?

What would be the right level to dual my Thief to necromancer... My thief is now in level 5 (is it too high?)... I have just enterd to chapter 3...
|
Either level 5 or 6 if you are only going to be playing BG1/Tales only. (If you plan on playing the character all the way through the BG series then don't dual till around level 10, I would say. But be aware that then you won't be able to choose necromancer with a thief dualed to mage in BG2; your 'kit' will be for a thief.) I would think that if your stealth is high enough at level 5 to do it then, as it will take less time to get your thief skills back.
For a character of this kind I would put all 20 thieving ability points into stealth on each level up, and when it is where I want it I would dual. I would have another thief in the party to open locks and find traps. Maybe if level 6 earns you an additional weapons prof it might be worth it to dual then. But otherwise, the backstabbing ability is what's cool about this class combination. |

You did say thief, right? ;)
Then you've as good as completed the game already. If you have a haste spell (or a potion of speed) use it, and then make yourself invisible (again either through spell or potion). So now you're hasted, and invisible. Now cast 'draw upon holy might' on yourself. Run up to Sarevok, backstab him with that +3 blade, then run back to the bottom of the temple (where the door is). Use another potion of invisibility (or spell) and repeat untill Sarevok is killed. I seriously did this whole bit in about thirty seconds. It was so easy. Just make sure you have a lot of invisibility spells memorised. Or a lot of potions, of course. Good luck ;) |
I have unleashed the wrath upon Sarevok which is my thief with a short sword +3, Sarevok (and his statue?!?) are now completely mauled. What is up with that giant room filled with everyones statuein the ending cinema?Another Q. If i were to import my thief from bg1 to bg2 would he still get all his skills (AKA. cure light wounds, slow poison, draw upon holy might)? Oh one last thing, do you gain a THAC0 Bonus when backstabbing?
"The lord of murder has perished, cuz my thief-mage kicked him square in his ballsack. So sayeth the wise Aluando!" |

If you were to die in the game, your statue would also appear here. If you import your thief into BG II, you do get to keep your innate abilities (cure light wounds, slow poison and draw upon holy might). You gain a +4 THAC0 bonus whenever invisible, no matter what class you play. So this is the bonus you get when backstabbing. |
You're also supposed to get a +4 bonus to your attack roll when backstabbing.
