Hey all,
This is probably an old topic, but I have been replaying BG2 and I just found a wolf pelt 'bag' on the animal trainer in the Copper Coronet, the one who gives the kick-butt short bow. Is this a normal drop? Have I been accidentally selling this along with the wolf pelt you get for killing the animal? Or is this a special drop that I just got lucky with.

Normally I would save and reload to find out, but I have progressed far beyond that point and have no desire to create a new party just to test this occurrance.

If this is a normal item, then I have been screwing myself out of a bag of holding for about 20 games! :(

Thanks!

AFAIR the answers to your questions are yes and (apparently) yes.

I also believe that the wolf bag is nowhere near as good as a true bag of holding, and I sell it once I get the real thing, if not before.

The pelt that acts as a mini Bag of Holding is a component of the Unfinished Business mod (or at least it was about 18 moths ago when I installed an early version).

In 'standard' BG2 it's just a treasure for sale.

It is not present in the standard equipment (SoA+ToB+patch+baldurdash).

On a side notice, in what sense is it worse than a bag of holding?

It can't hold as many items, about 12/15 IIRC.

Ah, I think I recently installed the Unfinished Business mod--that is probably why I have never noticed it before.

Also, even though it is not nearly as good as a true bag of holding, it is a lifesaver for a low strength party trying to haul around heavy items that may be used later after certain strenth enhancing items are acquired.

Thanks all!

If you don't have your mod, get some old worn boots, a winter wolf pelt, and an elephant hide. Take them to Cromwell, and for 10,000 gc, he'll make the "Boots of Stomping"

These boots will kill any single insectoid creature, once per day. They also have improved haste cast on the wearer.

Good hunting!

*stomps on Kyrvias for claiming there's new items to be gained in the game*

See? Link has already gotten the Boots of Stomping!
