In the manual it says that high wisdom builds up magic resistance. While i believed this to be true i heard someone on the forum say that it did not? I always thought that it starts building at around 10-12 and caps off when wisdom is 18 giving a maximum of +8 to magic resistance?
can somebody help? does the game account for this? |
Wisdom has never done anything for Magic Resistance.
In tabletop D&D games, high Wisdom commonly gives you bonuses to your Saving Throws against hostile spells that effect the mind, such as Charm, Confusion and Rigid Thinking. While this rule does make sense, it was not implemented in any of the Baldur's Gate games. |
i was under the impression that high wisdom did improve saving throws... are you sure this was not implemented in the baldur's gate games?
i'll take ur word for it though six of spades |
It was meant to be - they even put it in the manual (which doesn't mean much!), but they never actually implemented it.

sorry to bring this old topic back up again. Let me get this straight. Having 3 wisdom as opposed to 18 wisdom will have no effect on a fighter's magic resistance or saving throws in any of the baldur's gate saga?
|
Nope. Still, realistically, having someone with a 3 wisdom wouldn't be that good :D
